We read public CMS cost reports.
The Healthcare Cost Report Information System (HCRIS) is the firm’s primary source. FY2021–FY2024 panel data, 1,114 independent PPS hospitals, 32 states. Every figure published by Synergize AI traces to a specific worksheet in a specific filed report.
We do not build proprietary models.
No projections. No scenario analysis dressed as forecasts. No black-box scoring. Where benchmarks are cited — HFMA, MGMA, Kaufman Hall, Chartis — the source is named in line.
We do not infer from anecdote.
Findings are drawn from the panel. A hospital’s individual reading is benchmarked against the cohort it belongs to, not against composite intuition.
We name the limits of the dataset.
The cohort is distress-selected, not a random national sample. We say so on every report. A CFO reviewing our figures should compare them to their own filings, not to system-average national benchmarks.
